My "smell test" for RMT is to look at it from the buyer side, not the seller's. Somer was RMT because if someone wanted to buy GTCs anyways, it was free money. Most twitch giveaways I've seen are at most a faction battleship, so assuming the chance of winning is not very high the return isn't great. I'm probably better off buying a plex and getting 2 faction battleships with that.<br /><br />The thing to watch out for would be subscriber-only draws, which I agree shouldn't be allowed, and chicanery using rigged giveaways as cover for RMT. Both offer ways to control the odds so that buyers are actually getting RMT rather than supporting a streamer.<br /><br />The Somer situation was a different because the hole CCP opened for them was big enough to drive a truck through. This hole is much smaller, enough to deal with on a case by case basis I think. People who try to exploit it risk being banned by CCP (with Somer it was open season).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
